The beginning of my journey to Champagne last week was nothing short of sublime.
Upon arrival, I checked into the Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa—an oasis of refinement—and welcomed the experience with a bottle of the exquisite Le Clos des Trois Clochers 2019 (more on that gem later). Little did I know, this particular cuvée was a subtle harbinger of the evening that lay ahead.
After taking a moment to refresh and dress for the evening, I made my way to the lobby to meet the rest of the #MakeItPopSociety—a distinguished circle of international Champagne Ambassadors. Once assembled, we were whisked away to a clandestine location nestled in the heart of Villers-Allerand.
The setting? The latest private residence by Champagne Leclerc Briant: none other than Les Trois Clochers—the Champagne region’s first true luxury villa.
Art Deco elegance meets storied heritage at this extraordinary villa, whose name pays homage to the three iconic bell towers that grace the surrounding hillsides. The architecture is as arresting as the panoramic views—each one a postcard from the heart of Champagne.
Villers-Allerand itself is a dream for those who, like me, prefer the bucolic rhythm of the countryside over the bustle of Reims. Situated quite literally among the vines, the villa sits beside the prestigious Clos, yet remains perfectly positioned—just 20 minutes from both Reims and Épernay, and a mere 10 minutes from the Royal Champagne Hotel itself.
The villa accommodates up to 10 guests in the most sumptuous comfort. Each bedroom is spacious, individually appointed with its own en-suite bath, and impeccably designed to blend classic beauty with modern luxuries. The kitchen and living area invite convivial dinners—whether prepared personally or by a private chef—while the outdoor pool, terrace, and manicured lawn provide a serene setting to savor the golden glow of Champagne evenings.
Guests of the villa are also granted access to the exceptional amenities of the Royal Champagne—its Michelin-starred dining and award-winning spa included. It’s the ideal fusion of privacy and pampering.
I see Les Trois Clochers as a flawless choice for intimate group travel—a retreat designed to celebrate connection, culture, and Champagne. It’s officially A Vine Affair approved and will be my top recommendation for clients in search of the quintessential stay in Champagne.
